What this module is for

The module regenerates the product, category, brand, supplier and store images of the webshop in every image size and format. The run goes in steps, so the time limit of the server does not stop it; it can be paused and continued, and without an open back office the hosting cron can carry it on. All images of one product can be regenerated with one click, and images that could not be made go to a list with the reason. A watermark can be put on the product photos: the webshop logo, an uploaded image or a text, on the selected image sizes. The original photo stays unchanged, so the watermark can be taken off at any time.

What it does

Every image group, every size

Product, category, brand, supplier and store images, in every image size and format of the webshop. The files of image sizes no longer in use can be deleted.

Pause and continue

The run goes in steps, so the time limit of the server does not break it. Pause, continue, stop; without an open back office the hosting cron carries it on.

One product with one click

From the Overview or the product edit page every image of one product is regenerated, and each file is listed with its size.

Your own watermark

The webshop logo, an uploaded image or a text; five positions, adjustable visibility and size, on the selected image sizes. Live preview before saving.

Watermark on upload

A product photo uploaded in the back office, by import or through the webservice gets the watermark at once. When switched off, only a regeneration puts it on.

List of failed images

What could not be made goes to a list with the reason (for example, too little PHP memory). From there it can be retried one by one or in bulk.

Do you need a developer?

No. Upload the module the usual way, select the image groups under Design › Image regeneration and start. The installation changes no image, and the watermark goes on the images only after it is switched on.

Compatibility: PrestaShop 1.7.4 to 9, PHP 7.1 and newer, multistore included.
Run: In steps, can be paused; the hosting cron carries it on with a call every minute.
Watermark: PNG, JPG, GIF or WebP image (at most 5 MB), the webshop logo or a text of at most 60 characters.
Uninstalling: The images and the failed list stay; a reinstall continues where it stopped.
Updates: 12 months of updates and direct support.

No missing images: Existing files are overwritten in place, so the webshop shows an image during the whole run.

Frequently asked questions

What buyers ask before they order

How is this different from the thumbnail regeneration of PrestaShop?
The module goes in steps, so the time limit of the server does not stop it, and it can be paused and continued. The images of one product can be regenerated on their own, and failed images go to a list with the reason.
What happens if I close the browser during a run?
The run stays and can be continued when the module page is opened again. With the scheduled address set, the hosting cron carries it on without an open back office.
Do the images disappear from the webshop during regeneration?
No. Existing files are overwritten in place, so the webshop shows an image all along. Browsers and a CDN may show the old image until their cache expires.
Can the watermark be removed later?
Yes. The original uploaded photo stays unchanged, so switching the watermark off and regenerating the images removes it.
Do newly uploaded product images get the watermark too?
Yes, switched on by default: a product photo uploaded in the back office, by import or through the webservice gets the watermark at once. The switch can be turned off; then only a regeneration puts it on.
What if I already use another watermark module?
The Watermark screen names the other active watermark module, because the image would get two watermarks. While this watermark is on, the other module has to be disabled in the Module Manager.
Does it work with several webshops?
Yes. The watermark setting is shared by every webshop, because one product image file serves every webshop.
Which PrestaShop versions does it run on?
